What's The Story

WHAT'S THE STORY:
STORIES THAT INSPIRE US
What’s the Story is a bi-monthly, 1-hour virtual gathering that cultivates trust, connection, and collective learning through heartfelt conversation and storytelling.
Each session is led by a guest speaker who opens with a topic that matters deeply to womxn, such as "how to dress professionally while being yourself," financial empowerment, and more. Participants are invited to share their experiences and practice storytelling in a warm, self-affirming space. These gatherings help build networks, amplify voices, and strengthen leadership rooted in lived experience.

Each year, we spotlight one Womxn for Change through an interview portrait illustrated in visual art—showcasing the person, their values, and the change they champion. In 2024, we featured Portland fashion designer Ale Oyervides, whose minimalist, sustainable designs reflect her multicultural heritage and leadership in eco-conscious style.

ALE OYERVIDES
As the 2024 Womxn For Change Latina Entrepreneur, Oyervides uses her multicultural Mexican heritage with a keen eye for minimalism. The designer sees beauty in simplicity and is inspired by geometric and asymmetric designs. Her Fashion House Ale O showcases pieces that offer the wearer a bold presence with unpretentious style.
WHY IT MATTERS
What’s the Story is more than a storytelling program—it’s a practice ground for authentic expression, a space where lived experience becomes leadership, and a platform for celebrating womxn who inspire systemic and creative growth. Let us continue to listen, create, share, and rise together.
